About Miracle Tree: Organic Moringa Tea & Powder

Miracle Tree is a family-owned moringa brand.

Miracle Tree makes organic moringa tea and moringa powder. Since 2013, we have been turning moringa leaves from single-origin farms in Sri Lanka into herbal teas, caffeinated energy teas and a pure leaf powder, with one aim running through all of it: moringa that actually tastes good.

Moringa is known by a folk name, "the miracle tree", and that is where our name comes from.

What we make

Moringa Herbal Teas: 20 flavors in plastic-free tea bags. Our Original moringa leaf tea won a Great Taste Award in the UK in 2015. Caffeine-free, with two exceptions: Green Tea is blended with decaffeinated green tea (under 1 mg of caffeine per cup), and Earl Grey is lightly caffeinated.
Moringa Energy Teas: six caffeinated flavors in plastic-free pyramid sachets, with 155 mg of caffeine per cup, made as a coffee alternative.
Moringa Powder: 100% organic moringa leaf powder in an 8 oz canister or a 16 oz pouch, for smoothies, lattes, soups and baking.

Our teas and powders are sold in 33 countries, and we ship worldwide from our own store. You will also find us in thousands of retail shops, through grocery, food-service and club-store channels.

Living well

Every decision starts with one question: is this right for the people who drink our tea? For us that means certified organic, Non-GMO teas and powders with no added sugar, and flavors worth coming back to. We also love cooking with moringa, and share ideas on our recipe blog. Our supply chain is certified to GMP, ISO 22000 and HACCP food-safety standards.

Fair to our farmers

We buy our moringa directly from independent farmers in Sri Lanka on a "bought-leaf" model, which returns up to 70% of the purchase value to the growers. It is a direct relationship we can stand behind, not a certification badge.

Treading lightly

Our moringa is certified USDA Organic and EU Organic, grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers on farms near Sri Lanka's rainforest regions, and solar-dried after harvest. Kunal discovered moringa in 2013 while searching for a cleaner alternative to caffeine and artificial supplements. Though nutrient-rich, most options tasted bitter and unpleasant. Determined to fix this, he partnered with family-owned farms in Sri Lanka to create moringa teas that deliver both nutrition and great taste—turning a personal solution into a mission to make moringa a daily wellness essential.

That is why all of our products are organic-certified. Why? Organic has more of what we want, and less of what we don’t want. No chemicals, no additives, no chemicals. No complicated chemical names and compounds. Just high quality organic Moringa. Organic foods often taste better because they are truer to the natural state of the agricultural product. Our bodies absorb and retain the nutrients of certified organic products. Their production offers a wide variety of benefits for us, as well as for the environment, through the use of earth-friendly agricultural practices. Why chose organic? Organic foods are richer in nutrients derived from the healthy soil in which they are grown. Conversely, conventionally farmed foods are sprayed with pesticides that disrupt the soil’s natural balance. Organic farming replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic pesticides reducing the chances of your food containing harmful chemicals, while simultaneously promoting ecological well-being. Reducing the use of toxic chemicals will help prevent the pollution of our soil, air, water and food supply.

We work with ethical manufacturers on a 'bought-leaf' basis with independent farmers from Sri Lanka (where 70% of the purchase goes directly to the independent farmer). This model ensures a positive impact on the workers' social well-being and communities. Trust and respect is a crucial ingredient to our success and our underlying sourcing model helps achieve a sustainable economic growth, and better nutrition security and education access for the local communities where we operate.

Our moringa and superfoods are bought at the source. These direct relationships allow us to produce the highest quality herbal products that offer an unmatched level of freshness and taste. Being at origin to maintain these relationships is our way of ensuring the quality and authenticity of our teas and herbs from the heart of the rainforests in Sri Lanka and beyond. For our community, we believe in creating and supporting programs that benefit farmers and workers for all of our overseas partners. It is our aim to incorporate third-party certification into the entire line of Miracle Tree products and to achieve B-Corp verification. However, even with products that are not officially certified, we build direct relationships with our farming partners to ensure quality and consistency of products, the fair treatment of workers, better working and living conditions, and an overall improved quality of life for families and communities. Since our launch, we have made it a priority to source exclusively from suppliers who ethically support their workers.

We make the right choices for the environment! We work and champion organic and sustainable tea processing and cut energy/shrink waste. Furthermore, our Moringa demand has led to thousands of moringa plants being planted and grown. This activity directly helps absorb Carbon Dioxide from our atmosphere! Because our teas are not mass-grown, but are nurtured, cultivated and hand processed by tea artisans, it is possible for us to offer the finest grades of unique and special harvests that protect the body and pamper the senses. Sustainable practices such as those implemented by organic agriculture will enable the next generation of tea lovers to enjoy natural, true-tasting moringa tea and powder.

Our direct relationships with our farmers and supply chain give us unparalleled insight and control over our ingredient profile. This access allow us to efficiently promote our products without compromise at fair prices. At the same time, we maintain strict standards of quality and food safety, with third party lab testing for heavy metals and pesticides with every batch we produce. We also work to ensure that we only pick the most quality moringa leaf leveraging camera sensors and advanced technologies in our production and factory. Lastly, we also ensure that our production facilities are regularly audited and certified through third parties across U.S., E.U., and International regulations.
